Jessica Henery

Training

Jessica completed her Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) with First Class at the University of Sydney in 2021, majoring in Gender Studies. She then completed her Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of New South Wales in 2024 and is currently completing her PhD. Jessica’s research examines how varying levels of parental warmth act as risk and protective factors for the development of childhood conduct problems and limited prosocial emotions. She is particularly interested in how the parent-child relationship and family system influence child behaviour and development into adulthood. Her research has been presented at international conferences.

Clinical experience

Jessica is a registered psychologist who has supported clients with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, relational difficulties, trauma, stress, neurodivergence, emotion regulation challenges, self-harm, and suicidal ideation across inpatient, university, and outpatient public health contexts. She has experience working therapeutically with children, adolescents, and adults, and has facilitated group therapy programs in both hospital and private settings. Jessica also works at the UNSW Parent-Child Research Clinic delivering Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).
Jessica’s therapeutic approach is evidence-based and draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Schema Therapy. She is committed to providing a warm, honest, and collaborative therapeutic space where clients feel supported to gain insight and make meaningful life changes.
